Bridal Florals

Bespoke Bridal Florals

...for Steve & Holly, 23rd November 2012...

...'Georgina Rose' was asked to create six duchess satin florals that would accompany the flowers girls dresses for Steve & Holly's wedding. The couple asked for a deep red in colour and for the florals to have button holes at the back so that they could attach to the dress easily....

...Georgina Rose began to create some test florals and see how they came together before creating the finals...

...to produce these florals, two layers of duchess satin was bonded together and then the pieces were hand soldered to leave a neat finished edge...

Work Space ©GeorginaRoseBeaton
...as the edges were still hot from soldering, the individual pieces were then placed in a glass dish to help mold slightly into a cupped shape....

...the nine separate pieces were then hand sewn together, finished with another small circular pattern piece for the center of the floral. a simple chain stitch was also added to one of the layers to add depth and detailing...

...the finished floral with all its layers then sat beautifully and had a realistic effect...

...it was incredibly special to see these fantastic florals make their way down the aisle on Steve and Holly's special day...

A Most Curious Wedding Fair & Bridal NEXT!

A Most Curious Wedding Fair & Bridal NEXT!

...how exciting is this...

...I have the pleasure in informing you that I am taking part in the fantastic 'Most Curious Wedding Fair' on Saturday 6th October...

at YORK HALL, BETHNAL GREEN, E2 9PJ...

...About...

"A Most Curious is the exhibition company for cool hunting, style savvy individuals, couples and families. With our finger firmly and obsessively on the pulse, we put together events that showcase the most fashion forward, trend-aware and design-led products alongside the premise of a fun day out with unique entertainment, refreshments and activities.

A Most Curious Wedding Fairs operate under the simple premise of ‘cool stuff’ for your wedding. As long as it’s expressive, fun, stylish, pleasing to the eye and has talented, creative and friendly people behind it then we want to showcase it our wedding fair and unite you with couples of the same nature! Our London Fair is situated a hop skip and a skinny jean away from the capital’s coolest districts, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston, Stoke Newington, Brick Lane (we could go on!) at Bethnal Green’s York Hall and attracted 1200 people to the Spring edition.

The Norwich Fair is in a smaller city but sees a fantastic turn out, 800 people through the doors, due to the art school graduates who stay to settle down and get hitched as well as those who travel from the affluent north Norfolk regions, known as Chelsea by the sea. We can quote visitors who say ‘Norwich is crying out for this type of thing’ so exhibitors at the fairs can expect to reap the benefits of culture starved style savvy Norfolkians looking for chic and beautiful things for their nuptials! It was also in the top 3 for Best Fair category at the 2012 Vintage Norwich Awards."

...eek!! Sounds amazing right? .. well it gets better...

...Plus, I am so thrilled to say that I am also part of the Final ten designers that are taking part in the 'Bridal NEXT!' show...

 The Final Ten Designers

"So you've heard us harping on about it but what exactly is it and what and who will be involved and just how will it help you find THE most awesome, cutting edge design for your wedding? Read on. We are so excited about bridal NEXT! we can't even tell you, just have a look for your selves.

Bridal NEXT!
Showcasing the new bridal design generation

A platform for 10 emerging makers to launch themselves into the creative and fashion forward end of the wedding industry.

Taking place in

A Most Curious Wedding Fair LONDON
York Hall, East London
6th October 2012

A Most Curious Wedding Fair NORWICH
St Andrews Hall, Norwich
21st October 2012

A Most Curious has set up Bridal NEXT! to provide ten emerging makers with a platform to launch themselves into the creative and fashion forward end of the wedding industry.

It will take place in a special section at both the Norwich and London Most Curious Wedding Fairs. It will also feature the ‘Most Curious One To Watch’ award, which will be given to one Bridal NEXT! exhibitor as judged by industry experts."

...I really want to show all at the fair and the judges all of my beautiful gowns...

"The winner will be stocked by the prestigious Luella’s Boudoir in Wimbledon Village and Ruby & Diva online bridal boutique (London winner)and in Antidote Vintage and Handmade Fashion (Norwich winner) as well being featured in Most Curious’s next bridal photoshoots and be given online exposure by all the sponsors.

We searched the country for inspiring and innovative contemporary designers, fashion enthusiasts, ateliers, crafters, artists and creatives who would like to showcase their products and services to the coolest of brides and grooms. Applicants do not have to have studied or be studying in their field but if they have, they need to have graduated 2010, 2011 and 2012. Or if they had gone that step further and started a business it needed to have been established no more that 18 months ago. We are dedicated to keeping Bridal NEXT! a platform for those truly starting out in their creative careers''

...and so, for me as an Independent, unique, newly graduated bridal designer, I feel that this is the Most perfect fair to showcase and present to the World my 'Gloucester Cathedral Collection'...

...As a Fashion/Textile Designer, it isn't just the garment construction that is important, it is also the fabric design. I can personally design an innovative fabric which is specially made for you. Whether it is a traditional hand sewn beaded embellishment or a funky out-of-the box laser cut design...we can work together to achieve something which has never been seen before and it can be all yours for your incredibly special day...

...I cannot wait to show the judges my 'Gloucester Cathedral Collection, I demand their attention as I honestly feel that 'I am the one to watch'...

...Please come and show your support on Saturday at the London Fair and this is truly going to be a most Curious party that no one will want to miss....

Free range Show...Refresh

Free Range Graduate Catwalk Refresh

...due to being so proud of the first fashion show I had taken part in, I wanted to re-blog about it and refresh the images...

...This was my 'Gloucester Cathedral' Graduate Collection...

'Gloucester Cathedral' 2012 Collection ©GeorginaRoseBeaton

...all aspects of the dresses from the initial designs to the finishes of the fabrics was completely inspired by Gloucestershire Cathedral...

...I did decide however, to name each dress to make it easier with shows coming up ect and instead of naming them after parts of the cathedral, I wanted to capture the fact that there gowns were produced whilst at uni. I named each one after my closest friends as they saw and supported each gown too...

'Laura', Gloucester Cathedral Collection 2012 ©GeorginaRoseBeaton
...each gown came with difficulties that were over come within the design of the next dress to follow...
